Our Process

Our Process icons

Focus groups used to be a time-consuming, expensive, and laborious process. And some still are. But they don’t need to be. Legal Focus Group has brought this process into the digital age making it more efficient, more cost-effective, and more reliable.

We tailor each session to your needs – jurisdiction, demographics, timeline, etc. We pull from a pool of qualified and verified participants based on your parameters. Each session includes six-12 participants and lasts about 90 minutes. They are held online in a secure video conference room, which means people don’t have to find your office, and we can get right down to it.

Our process provides all the advantages of a traditional focus group, while making is faster, easier, more flexible, more affordable, and more reliable.

Subscription Options

We offer rates on a case-by-case basis or through a subscription service. Most of our clients end up utilizing our services over and over. Many firms handle at least a dozen cases per year with estimated case value or exposure greater than $100,000.

A subscription allows you to save on a service you will use throughout the year. The annual subscription option starts at 24 hours, i.e. 12, two hour sessions with 7-12 participants.

Our goal is to save you time, resources, and provide better insight into the issues and value of the case at bar.

Innovative Solutions

Caswell’s educational journey began in Virginia, graduating from Woodberry Forest School in 2012. He then moved to Dallas, Texas where he received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.

Upon returning to Wilmington, NC in 2016, Caswell spent the next four years building professional experience in finance and accounting with GE Nuclear, Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), and Yogasleep while simultaneously participating in several private real estate investment deals. He went on to attend UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, receiving his MBA in 2022 with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. He began developing Legal Focus Group with his longtime friend and co-founder, Devlin Horton, an accomplished trial attorney in NC. The rapid evolution of videoconferencing technology was borne out of necessity during the Covid Pandemic, but he recognized the incredible value that could be created by leveraging these tools to make focus grouping cases easier, simpler, and more affordable for attorneys. Caswell has conducted dozens of focus groups as both moderator and presenter and has a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Through a strong work ethic and appetite for research, he maintains a reputation of honesty, integrity, and professionalism in the community.

On a personal note, Caswell is an avid outdoorsman, surfer, and chef. He spends most of his free time on the south end of Wrightsville Beach taking walks with his wife and fox-red lab Lumina (Lu) or fishing for supper in the surf zone.
